Pago Casa Grande has over three centuries of winemaking experience! Organic and artisanal, the wines are well made and are an unbelievable value given the care and quality control to be found at all stages of production. Located in the Les Alcusses area in the Valencia, biodiversity is evident in all corners of the vineyard. The wines are all made with estate fruit - that is grapes that the winery grows from vines they own - with a focus on local indigenous and Mediterranean varieties. The Casa Benasal is predominantly Monastrell (otherwise known as Mourvedre or Mataro) with Syrah and Garnacha Tintorera (otherwise known as Alicante) playing a supporting role.
Young, fruit forward, and with a touch of meatiness, this will soothe when the day turns chilly again but is structured enough to stand up to a good steak. A lovely accompaniment to grilled eggplant or lasagna.
